Been a while since I updated my blog so thought I’d give a update on what’s new.

- Been working hard on the Star Wars Threads of Destiny movie since last October and have got to say I’m having a blast working on this project!
- Working on a scene at the moment which features a lot of action which includes a lot of Light Saber sword swinging – very intense!
- Most of the shots i’ve been working on involve working on Green Screen Keying, basically removing all the green from the main footage, then compositing all the other elements into the shot
- Also worked on Rotoscoping for a few shots, which was a pain in the ass the to do, very time consuming and requires a lot of patience!
- So far I’ve completed about over 50 shots now

Overall things are looking good! And I can’t wait until this film is completed and released for everyone to see. Here are a some of shots that i’ve completed:

If you’re on Facebook then you should definitely check out the Star Wars Threads of Destiny fan page here for more info about the film, including trailers, behind the scenes footage and screenshots of the how things are shaping up for the film.

Anyways still a lot to be done, so it’s back to work for me!

Some great news! Was asked by Director Rasmus Tirzitis to help out on the movie production of “Star Wars – The Threads of Destiny”. Would like to personally thank Rasmus for bringing me on board this project.

I’m going to be working as one of the many VisualFX Compositors on this production. Really excited to be working on this project and will definitely do my best!!

Giving a go at creating set extensions in After Effects.

So I shot a lot of footage of different landscapes in Nottingham and the idea is to create a set extension in photoshop and composit it onto the live footage.

Here’s one shot that i’ve finished. Filmed a view of the Nottingham Trent Uni building and replaced the background with something much more eye catching.

Let me know what you think of it.

Also, would like to thank Sacha Azizi for helping out with the filming. Much appreciated Sach!

Did some reading on ambient occlusion in Cinema 4D and applied it to my MacBook Pro render. Definitely looks more polished and refined with the added Ambient Occlusion. Here are the pics:

you can check out my previous post for pics on what the MacBook looks like without ambient occlusion. Definitely a big difference.

So what’s new with me? Been looking at a lot of Motion graphic portfolio’s and noticed that a lot of their work involved 3D graphics. So I decided that I needed to start learning 3D so I can incorporate 3D into my motion graphics work.

So for the past few weeks I’ve started to learn Cinema 4D. So far I’ve just been getting used to using the basic tools and finding out different modeling techniques used in 3D.

Currently trying to model the Apple Macbook Pro laptop. Here’s a screen shot of what I’ve done so far:

still at an early stage so stay tuned for later updates on this small project.

Latest Update (8/07/2010):

Managed to create the keyboard layout using splines for the keyboard holes outlines then  collapsing all the splines into one then using the extrude tool to make the keyboard surface plate.

Did the same method for the buttons. Created outline of button using basic spline tool, then using the extrude tool. Rendered instances for duplicate copies of the keyboard keys.

Still need to create ports on the side of the macbook and then finally to add materials to the different surfaces.

Finally, my latest project is complete.

TVibe Productions presents “The Beautiful Game…” – a representation of what the beautiful game means to me.

I Had so many different thoughts and feelings of what the beautiful game meant to me, but unfortunately couldn’t include them all in this video. Maybe I’ll end up doing another one sometime in the future.

Anyway, enjoy!

Would like to say a big thanks to Rstar for coming up with the initial idea. Cheers!

Currently working on my latest project “The Beautiful Game…”

My idea for this project is to create a short sequence using various imagery to portray what the beautiful game means to me.

The Beautiful Game. What does it mean to you?

First project I did for a client. The project was to create an opening intro for their website which sell their own branded Tshirt designs.
